Stephenson Harwood aviation litigation and regulation team host Royal Aeronautical Society event

On Monday 22 April, the aviation litigation and regulation team hosted the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) Air Law Group's inaugural space law seminar – "Navigating by the Stars – space law leaders on the legal challenges of tomorrow".

Stephenson Harwood Of Counsel, Chloe Challinor opened the event, which was attended by more than 65 individuals across the space sector. This was followed by two panel sessions, the first covering operational and regulatory challenges, with panellists from SpaceX, Astroscale, Asteroid Mining Corporation, the Department for Transport and Global Aerospace. The second panel session focussed on policy, legal and insurance challenges, with panellists including the heads of space at Clyde & Co and Beazley, as well as the Head of Commercial Spaceflight at the Department for Transport and the founder of Flaxman Partners. The second panel was moderated by Stephenson Harwood managing associate, Patrick Bettle.

Closing remarks were delivered by Peter Neenan, Chairman, Air Law Group, RAeS. The seminar was followed by a networking and drinks reception provided by Stephenson Harwood.
